Does anyone know the real reason why the diving pool at astoria pool was closed more than 20 years ago?
I've heard so many stories about why the "deep end" (thats's what we called it when we were litttle and used to go there) was closed. I've that a little boy once drowned and then I heard that it was closed due to trespassing. What is the real story? and Is it now reopened? I haven't gone to Astoria pool since I was a little girl and now I am a grown woman. Just curious

You can pretty much assume that any time the reason for pool closure is a drowning, it is an urban legend. Accidents happen, and if pools were closed due to a single drowning, we would have very few pools left open. The sad truth is that pools are really expensive to maintain, and if you get behind in maintenance, conditions deteriorate quickly.
We went there only secondarily because of the diving in this place, because from here you can access some of the most interesting sights of the region start. You can use that in a Sharm el Sheikh holidays much more easily to detect than in many other resorts in Egypt.
Our room we had, not far from Sharm El Sheikh Airport, is' Four Seasons Resort 'posted. The hotel is in the typical architectural style of the country, and the rooms are quite luxurious, with direct views over the Red Sea. Guests are offered the 'Four Seasons Resort' a spa and wellness area, the obligatory swimming pool, as well as several restaurants, bars and lounges.
The cuisine is very varied, at Il Frantoio, there are Italian specialties, the Arabesque offers Lebanese and Moroccan specialties, the Reef Grill you can enjoy regional specialties and barbecue dishes. Even in the two pool bars can eat delicious, so Gezerah pool bar offers a delicious Mexican cuisine. The city is very much alive and who explored the little streets, which finds itself in a completely different world. At every street corner you will be greeted with the proverbial business efficiency of the locals confronted.
The steady supply of goods and services, promotional measures are replaced here as we know it. The isolated location, it is ensured that the buildings were never destroyed. The monastery is exactly at the place where once the burning bush has confessed. Of inestimable value is the monastery library of over 4000, partly illustrated books from the beginnings of Christianity. Also visit the Ras Mohammed National Park was a wonderful experience that we as part of our holiday in Sharm El-Sheikh had.
Desert areas interspersed with mangrove swamps, where an incredible diversity reigns. Thousands of migratory birds lay here annually to stop a long way on its south. Much more, however, the National Park for diving to offer, it is considered one of the most beautiful dive sites around the world. It was estimated in 20 million years of incomparable beauty of a coral reef - a must for every diving fan. So you can rightly say that a holiday in Sharm el Sheikh, not only for divers, but especially for divers and also interested in culture bathing ideal.
