Top places to visit in the world?
Does anyone have any ideas about the top 10 places to visit in this world? If you had to make a list of places, what would they be and why? So far, my list only has 4 real contenders which are:
Nigara Falls - as its probably one of the greatest sites ever
The Grand Canyon - same as above
Hawaii - just for the beach party
Tahiti - as I love scuba diving
What would be your top 10 and why?
OK, well I wouldn't ask a travel agent to send me to the Seven Wonders of the (ANCIENT) World since they don't really exist any more, but from experience I would recommend:
New Zealand for its friendliness and breathtaking scenery and CLEAN air
Iceland for its mystical landscape and midnight sun or a winter swim in the Blue Lagooon
Rome for its fabulous coffee sitting outdoors in the plaza, its art, vibrancy and architecture
Denmark for its stone age bog bodies
Singapore for pink gin at Raffles Hotel
Skye (Scottish island) for its windswept beauty and a wee nip of whisky to warm up by a crackling log fire
Granada and Seville in Spain for exquisite Moorish architecture
The Blue Mountains in Australia - the gum-tree lined landscape is twice as wide as the Grand Canyon and much older
Wicklow Head Lighthouse - listen to the windows whistle as the wind blows in from the Atlantic (book it through the Irish Landmark Trust)
